A MAY WEDDING

We had the pleasure of being a part of Virginia and Randall Cooper’s wedding last May, but I’m just so busy right through to the fall that updating the blog always gets put on the back burner.  But in this case I made myself a promise that EVENTUALLY I would get some pictures from this wedding posted. Virginia (Bunny) was such a sweet and beautiful bride–so easy to work with and she and her mom were such a pleasure and I knew that everything was going to be perfectly lovely. I’m blessed to work with so many terrific brides, and I am always especially delighted to work with a bride who knows that her wedding day is important but is also clear that it’s more about the marriage than the wedding itself–and this was one such bride.

bunny DSC_3444The Mt. Vernon Club is one of our favorite venues–not too big, not too small, intimate and charming, elegant and classic, all at the same time. So when the bride was forced to change her venue from the Elkridge Country Club to the Mt. Vernon Club due to renovations at Elkridge, we knew she was a little disappointed, but we also knew it was perfect for her.  The terraced garden courtyard, brick exterior walls, nooks and crannies–as well as the charming carriage house became the  perfect setting for a spring wedding celebration.

This was a bride who knew what she wanted but was eager to get our feedback. She had her own sense of style and  aesthetic and she easily conveyed to us the look and feel she hoped to create for her wedding day. It was all a delightful mix of elegance and tradition, but fresh and modern at the same time. Her bright spring palette of pink and green was sweet and playful. From her more traditional bouquet to her pearl-studded pomander balls–there could have been no better way to celebrate a May wedding on a gorgeous spring day in Mt. Vernon.

Best wishes to Bunny and Randall Cooper and thanks so much for letting us be a part of your beautiful wedding day!

Thanks also to Annapolis based photographer Mike Busada for the photographs–especially the detail shots which I always appreciate 🙂
